Week 4 of the Esports World Cup 2026 beckons, and that means more titles will begin at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, including Overwatch and Call of Duty: Warzone.

Overwatch Champions Series 2026 Midseason Championship at the Esports World Cup
Dates: July 29-August 2
Prize pool: $1,000,000
1st place: $400,000
Overwatch esports has had somewhat of a resurgent year after a large period of existential dread for the esport.
The Overwatch League’s peak viewership in 2018 is still well out of sight in 2026, but with a $1,000,000 prize pool for its Midseason Championship, Overwatch fans can be optimistic for the first time in a while that strong viewership will be returned.
Showing strong viewership across Southeast Asia, MENA, and NA, the Overwatch Champions Series returned regional split winners crazy Racoon, Zeta Division, VARREL, Team Secret, Dallas Fuel, Virtus.pro, and Weibo Gaming.
It was Team Falcons who delivered the trophy to South Korea in 2025, backing up the region’s historic dominance of the esport, but will it remain there in 2026?
Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence Series 2026 Championship at the Esports World Cup
Dates: July 29-August 1
Prize pool: $1,000,000
1st place: $250,000
The Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence Series 2026 Championship is the climax of the new-look Call of Duty circuit, now called the Resurgence Series.
Nine teams qualified from the event directly through their LAN performances at DreamHack Birmingham and DreamHack Atlanta, as well as 22 teams from online qualifiers, and Twisted Minds returning as 2025 winners.
The 32 teams will be split into two groups of 16 for the Group Stage, with 5 qualifying to the Finals from each, and 6-13th place making the Survival Stage, which will decide the last six teams for the Match Point Finals.
As far as favourites, there is no doubt that the teams who qualified from the DreamHack LANs have the edge, but no team more so than Falcons, who managed to win both in Birmingham and Atlanta.
Falcons may need those 1000 winners points for the EWC 2026 Club Championship, with Vitality’s strong performances in fewer titles so far setting the pace for the $7,000,000 1st place prize.
Honor of Kings World Cup 2026 at the Esports World Cup
Dates: July 30-August 8
Prize pool: $3,025,000
1st place: $600,000
The fifth most popular game at the Esports World Cup 2025 by peak viewership, Honor of Kings is a hugely popular mobile title, especially in China and Southeast Asia.
Published by Tencent, the owners of Riot Games, Honor of Kings is locked in competition with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang for Mobile MOBA supremacy, and the teams will be locked in competition for HOK’s highest prize at EWC 2026.
It also comes with a joint-highest prize pool of $3,000,000 for the competition and an additional $25,000 for the Finals MVP.
AG.AL International will defend their title, but the roster (usually competing as AG Super Play) finished only third in the Chinese league, trailing Kuaishou Gaming, who will be amongst the favorites.
Vitality, Nongshim RedForce, Virtus.pro, Auroram and Deep Cross Gaming are among other notable orgs to field a roster in the title, which boasts teams from India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil, Europe, and Malaysia, amongst others.
Street Fighter 6 at the Esports World Cup 2026
Dates: July 29-August 1
Prize pool: $1,000,000
1st place: $250,000
It goes without saying that a $1,000,000 prize pool is not typical in the Fighting Games space. Success at this event could be career-defining for the winner.
By contrast, the Street Fighter 6 tournament at EVO Las Vegas in June boasted a $100,000 prize pool, with $40,000 for the winner, Saul Leonardo ‘MenaRD’ Mena.
At EWC, the winner will get $250,000 and an invitation to the equally prize-pooled Capcom Cup, making it a huge opportunity for fighters to break through and define their careers.
MenaRD, Shin ‘Leshar’ Moon-sup, and defending champion Zeng ‘Xiaohai’ Zhuojun are amongst the best-known competitors in the main event. Interestingly, Xiaohai had to earn his place at EWC 2026, despite being the defending champion, as he switched orgs from Kuaishou Gaming to Team Falcons.
The barrier was no impediment to his attendance, as he won Combo Breaker 16 to qualify for the EWC 2026 Street Fighter 6 main event.
