PlayStation’s State of Play came and went on Wednesday with a number of trailers and announcements for players. One of the biggest announcements came at the end of the show when it was revealed that there will be another PlayStation State of Play on February 6 that is dedicated entirely to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
During the show, Square Enix will be showing off gameplay “along with exciting news you won’t want to miss,” according to PlayStation. What that news happens to be is anyone’s guess right now.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launches on February 29 exclusively for PlayStation 5. It is the second in the planned trilogy of games remaking the original Final Fantasy 7.
“Cloud and his comrades escape the city of Midgar in pursuit of the fallen hero, Sephiroth,” the description of the game’s story reads. “As they travel across the world, they find themselves on a journey that will decide the fate of the planet.”
For those who haven’t played the first Final Fantasy 7 Remake, the in-game menu in Rebirth will provide players with a recap video to allow you to catchup on the full story that’s taken place.
