Planet Zoo 2’s First Patch Issues Crash Fixes, Franchise Mode Issues & More

A new patch is being deployed to Planet Zoo 2 across all platforms to solve some teething issues at launch, following the extremely successful drop of the game yesterday.

Frontier Developments saw the latest title surpass a Steam record for the original game, with Planet Zoo 2 now closing in on the developer’s overall record, but, like every launch, there have been some issues.

A swift patch is now being deployed, set to be available less than 24 hours after the game launched, with tweaks across a wide range of areas.

The patch notes for Planet Zoo 2 detail a wealth of changes, providing general improvements to crashes, stability, and graphics, alongside tweaks to gameplay and specific modes.

This includes minor fixes to some Career problems, resolving the inability to list juvenile shoals for trading in Franchise mode, fixing a release group issue not showing the correct rewards, and adjustments to fix an issue where the Community Challenge panel would not display all information.

Other issues, like animals erroneously escaping from habitats, reducing the frequency in which animals are automatically boxed, and improvements to the breeding frequency and success rate.

The sprawling list of patch notes is a sight to behold and shows the team will act swiftly to identify any issues, and it also came alongside a note detailing “specific areas which the development team have identified for ongoing improvements.”

Those areas consist on animal traversal, animals not aligning correctly with enrichments, errorneous escape from habitats, and feedback on the core creative toolset.
