Phantom Liberty’s Cinematic Trailer Reveals Jaw-Dropping Story

It’s almost here – in little more than a week, we’ll be diving into Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion, the one and only release of its kind for the open-world title released back in 2020. This is the swansong for CD Projekt’s biggest rags-to-riches story and an all-new cinematic trailer released today showcases a story that’s absolutely nothing short of incredible.

It’s something of a resurgence for Cyberpunk 2077, as along with Phantom Liberty, there will also be a release of what CDP is calling ‘Cyberpunk 2077 2.0’ – a full-fledged, end-to-end revamp of the base game. Most of that content will be made available for free, but Phantom Liberty is a paid expansion, and looking at the trailer below, it’s going to be worth every penny.

Phantom Liberty Looks Scary Good

For the longest time, we’ve known that Phantom Liberty is a ‘second chance’ for Cyberpunk 2077 – and in the all-new cinematic trailer that was released today, it certainly looks like it. In an awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping trailer, we get a close-up look at Idris Elba in full digital form – and he looks superb.

It’s three and a half minutes of content that helps set the scene perfectly for the expansion that’s dropping on September 26th – so there isn’t long to wait at all.

Here’s the trailer:

There’s a lot to unpack from the trailer, but this expansion combined with the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update means that potentially millions of players will be revisiting Night City in a few days – or visiting it for the first time.

Are you excited about Phantom Liberty?
