According to an official press release from KLab, the mobile game company will jointly develop and operate a new title with Palworld developer Pocket Pair.
KLab did not include any details about the genre, characters, or other content-based information.
Instead, the press release mentions the game will be released for smartphones and focuses on the game model itself.
It describes the game as “hybrid-casual”, which combines casual simplicity with “online games that can be played for longer periods of time”.
The KLab press release also mentions the team will use their experience with mobile games that are “geared towards the global market”.
This implies that the new game KLab is developing with Pocket Pair should have a global release.
At this time, Pocket Pair has not released any more official details about the new game, either. The new game could potentially relate to the Palworld universe.
Players may recognize KLab for mobile titles like Bleach: Brave Souls, BLEACH Soul Rising, and Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team.
Most KLab titles feature a lot of action, from sports to hack-and-slash. Kanahei’s Small animals, Piske & Usagi’s Short Trip Adventure is a relaxing game, though.
Players certainly know Pocket Pair, as Palworld continues to thrive. Earlier this week, the game passed 1.8 million concurrent players on Steam as sales skyrocketed.
Pocket Pair also announced a new roadmap that teases classic genre mechanics like PvP, Raid Bosses, and Pal Arena.
Some fans are divided over Palworld’s similarities to Pokémon. The Pokémon Company itself announced yesterday that it does plan to investigate the Palworld IP for infringement.
Nintendo swiftly issued DMCA takedowns over the Pokémon mod that emerged early on.
