With the surprise launch of Palworld on PS5, an entirely new community is jumping into the monster-catching game for the first time. They have questions and concerns, as do many of us who play on PC or Xbox Series X|S. First and foremost, does Palworld on PS5 have crossplay?
Can You Play Palworld Crossplay on PS5?
Unfortunately, the PS5 version of Palworld does not support crossplay. It’s a planned feature for a future update, but it’s not happening on launch day. If you’re playing the monster-catching game on PlayStation 5, you’re either playing the game solo, which is still a ton of fun, or with a group of other PS5 players.
It’s possible, though. The game supports crossplay between PC and Xbox using the Microsoft Store but not Steam, so the technology and infrastructure’s foundation is laying the groundwork. It’s a matter of time, energy, and money for developer Pocketpair. The studio has a few legal woes to worry about before delving into crossplay on the PS5.

Can You Play Palworld Solo?
If your friend group is spread across platforms—I’m sorry—you can still enjoy Palworld solo. It’s my preferred way to play the game, as you don’t have to worry about keeping up with the entire party’s progress. You can explore, catch monsters, and build your base at your own pace, which is cathartic.
However, if you’d rather play multiplayer, find yourself a competent group of PS5 players, start a party, and consider locking the server with a password to avoid griefing some pub players who want to mess with others.
Can You Transfer Your Palworld Save From PC to PS5?
Some players who enjoy gaming on PC and console cannot wait to dive straight into Palworld on PS5. It’s an entirely new experience playing the game on a big-screen television from the comfort of your couch. However, if you’d hate to lose your progress from your PC save, especially after all these months, you’ll be sorely disappointed to learn that you cannot transfer your save file from PC to PS5.
How are you enjoying Palworld on PlayStation 5? Is it a unique experience or more of the same from the monster-catching genre? We’d love to hear your thoughts on Palworld, State of Play, and everything PS5-related at the Insider Gaming forums!
