Palworld Hits Almost 1 Million Concurrent Players on Steam as 1.0 Unfolds

Palworld has managed to skyrocket up the Steam charts yet again, proving that the success it saw when it dropped in 2024 wasn’t a flash in the pan. On July 10, Palworld graduated from early access and became a 1.0 game, and the update that came with that step has proven to be a monumental boon for Pocketpair.

In the last 24 hours, the game has pushed to almost a peak concurrent player count of one million users on Steam alone. When you include all the other platforms Palworld is present on, it’s easy to imagine it stretching far beyond that figure.

Palworld 1.0 Goes Nuts on Steam

In January 2024, Palworld entered early access and became one of the most stunning success stories in gaming history. It racked up a concurrent player count of 2.1 million users, dropping the jaws of many worldwide.

Now, it’s happening all over again. In the last 24 hours, Palworld’s 1.0 update has pushed the game to a peak of 921,485 users. To put that into perspective, the game’s peak on June 29, days before the update, was 58,000 users.

Month-over-month, the player count has soared by more than 1,700%, which is purely indicative of the power of this 1.0 release.

It proved to be such a monumental update that the patch notes alone were akin to a novel. They were so long that they couldn’t be contained by Steam’s storefront. Additionally, the game’s review sentiments have started creeping up all over again, representing how pleased folks are with the update.

But what landed with 1.0?

Well, there were 72 new Pals introduced, fresh areas were added to the game’s open world, existing areas were overhauled, the player cap was increased, almost every element of the base game was rebalanced and tweaked, and scores of new mechanics were introduced. It was an update like no other.
