OpTic Texas has edged one step closer to securing back-to-back Call of Duty League Championship titles. It might have been a rocky start for OpTic Texas this season, but the squad has come out on top so far in Canada, effortlessly breezing through the upper bracket.
The qualification to the Grand Final came after the OpTic squad dealt a monumental blow to Boston Breach, a team that has made it further than anyone thought possible this weekend.
One Step Closer
The first back-to-back world championship run is one match away for OpTic Texas, which stands over a precipice at this point. The win over Boston Breach came hard and fast, with OpTic refusing to relent as Boston, a team that defeated both LA Thieves and the Miami Heretics this weekend, crumbled.
To give Boston credit, the team has surpassed all expectations so far this weekend. The squad came into COD Champs as the bottom-most seed after just managing to scrape qualification, and nobody anticipated the first-round win over LA Thieves. It just got better from there for the team.
Sadly, OpTic Texas proved to be too much for this ultimate underdog to score a Grand Final spot… For now. Boston Breach goes down into the lower bracket to face the winner of Surge vs. Heretics.
OpTic Texas was utterly dialled in against Boston Breach. The opening Hardpoint was an insane bout, with OpTic slamming Breach into the 100-point club and effectively dancing around the map without a care in the world. The round of SnD was a cake walk, and the Control came down to the final round, match point scenario that was no real issue for OpTic.
We now wait to see who OpTic’s challenger will be.
