OpTic Gaming’s talented players have just completed their race to Master Prestige in Modern Warfare 4, rotating a roster of esports pros and creators since the game launched to reach the highest possible multiplayer level. The feat came after several days of nonstop play, but when the stats were revealed, the first thing folks talked about was the team’s low kill-death ratio.
In an image posted on social media, OpTic showcased the team’s stats, showing that they’d amassed more than 3.8 million ‘score’ on their account leaderboard and had attained a K/D of just 1.27. It took them 132 hours of straight play to hit Prestige Master.
OpTic Gaming’s K/D is Worse Than Yours
The comments under OpTic’s post weren’t kind, with many pointing out how intense the SBMM mechanics must be in Modern Warfare 4 if some of the best FPS pro players on the planet can only secure a 1.27 K/D. Many were fast to stress that their K/D is higher than OpTic’s which represents the best efforts of a group of players, some of which are literal Call of Duty world champions.
Infinity Ward and Activision revealed an intention to make as many matches as possible feel fair and balanced, and again, the goal is to keep as many players as possible floating around the same kind of ratio. That was addressed by some of the comments:
1.27 KD lol
SBMM is such a crazy concept, NO ONE is going above 2 KD in this game
Another user wrote:
The best pro team dropping a 1.27kd. If that doesn’t tell you how f***ed the matchmaking is idk what does
Another thing to call out was the team’s win-loss ratio, which sat at 1.07. It’s much harder to control win rate as it depends on the state of your team and whether people are playing whatever the objective is, but it’s still not an encouraging figure for the best Call of Duty players in the world to profess.
