Popular Valorant content creator Mark ‘ohnePixel’ Zimmermann has announced a $50,000 streamer tournament for streamers and esports pros.
The tournament will see creators compete in the new Gauntlet: Glitched mode, revealed in the recent Valorant 13.06 dev update.
ohnePixel has so far confirmed Jynxzi, Tyler1, Caedrel, Mooda, TenZ, Ludwig, Boaster, Joe Bartolozzi and Subroza for the tournament.
Participants in the event will get to play the mode before it releases with Patch 13.06 on September 22.
What is Valorant Gauntlet: Glitched?
Gauntlet: Glitched is Valorant’s answer to League of Legends’ Arena and ARAM: Mayhem game modes.
The upcoming mode is played 2v2v2v2v2v2v2v2, with each of the eight duos facing a new two-player team each round.
It’s played across four arenas inspired by existing Valorant maps but optimized for 2v2 duels.
In Glitched, players create hybrid agents by drafting randomised abilities in a roguelike-style system as players upgrade or gain new abilities after each round.
So-called ‘glitches’, hence the mode’s name, will alter abilities in different ways to keep players on their toes and the mode fresh.
Example abilities shared by Riot include:
- Yoru’s Fakeout – while normally just a decoy that flashes enemies if they destroy it, it can be upgraded so that decoy can shoot bullets on its own.
- Skye’s Trailblazer – normally just a wolf that scouts ahead and concusses enemies, the upgraded version see the wolf become a giant that can kill in one bite.
- Gekko’s Wingman – usually a little guy that runs out and concusses the first enemy he finds, he becomes a much bigger guy that concusses the first target.
