Nvidia is expected to be launching its GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card this year, and rumors are starting to circulate about just how powerful these GPUs will be. And the latest involves the base clock speed of the flagship 5000 series GPU.
According to a known leaker on the Chiphell forums (h/t to Videocardz), the RTX 5090 will have a base clock of nearly 2.9 GHz. That’s a 30% increase from the 2.23 GHz of the RTX 4090. It even beats out the RTX 4090’s boost speed of 2.52 GHz.
There was no mention of a potential boost clock for the GPU.
In addition to the base clock claims, the RTX 5090 is rumored to feature a 448-bit memory bus with a bandwidth of 1568 GB/s and 28GB of GDDR7 memory.
