UPDATE 2 (10:20pm ET): All of Nintendo Switch Online services have been restored after being offline for eight hours.
UPDATE (8:55pm ET): Nintendo’s official status website still lists “All network services”, including Nintendo Switch Online as offline “at this time”.
ORIGINAL: A Google Cloud Outage has taken Nintendo Switch Online services offline.
According to the official Nintendo network status page, the service is “unavailable at this time”. There’s no other information provided by the company regarding any sort of return time. That’s likely due to it being a third-party issue.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” Nintendo’s site reads.

The outages began around 2pm ET, and have continued for the last couple of hours. In addition to Nintendo Switch Online, other services suffering various issues include YouTube, Twitch, and more. Google says it is aware of the issue and continues to work on it. As of publishing, they say there is no ETA for full service recovery.
For the broader web, Cloudflare has also suffered service outages. They say it’s caused by a third-party service that is a “key dependency”.
