Nintendo’s president has said they are not considering another price increase for the Switch 2.
Since AI has burst onto the scene, memory demand has risen sharply, driving price increases across all devices, including gaming consoles. All three big players, Sony, XBOX and Nintendo, have seen their consoles’ prices increase in the past year, and some are also expecting further bumps. However, Nintendo might have found a solution.
Nintendo Has Secured Sufficient Memory to Maintain Switch 2 Price
A recent report from Reuters has revealed that Nintendo has acquired enough memory to maintain the current price of the Switch 2. The company is not planning any further price adjustments following the initial increase earlier this year. Despite that initial hike, Nintendo’s latest console has already sold over 26 million units, outperforming its predecessor in the same timeframe.
However, the report also reveals that the memory shortage and the lack of more high-profile titles for the Switch 2 have led to a 16% decline in operating profit, and sales have fallen as well, according to analysts. At the same time, players just saw the release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, which has already become one of the highest-rated games.

Players will definitely be happy to learn that the Switch 2 price will not be impacted for the time being, at least. We will have to see how the memory situation develops for the long-term impact on the console’s pricing.
