Next Tarkov Wipe Confirmed for August 2024

Battlestate Games has just revealed that the next global wipe event in Escape from Tarkov will take place in August, making it one of the longest durations between wipes in the game’s history. This reveal took place today on the TarkovTV broadcast, during which Nikita Buyanov shared plenty of information about what’s coming next, ranging from new weapons to hideout expansions – and much more.

Tarkov’s Next Wipe is Still Months Away

Escape from Tarkov has had a tough time of it of late. The game has been the subject of much controversy, particularly with Battlestate Games introducing a brand-new edition of the game that was deemed ‘pay-to-win’ and borderline disrespectful to existing players. In recent weeks, the team at Battlestate Games has tried to make amends, including leaning more actively into community feedback to make Escape from Tarkov ‘better’.

In the latest episode of TarkovTV, Nikita Buyanov revealed that the patch that’ll bring the next wipe is dropping in August 2024. He didn’t specify a date, but referenced that it would be ‘early August’. The last wipe was in December, so it’s a lengthy gap – one of the longest between wipes in Tarkov history.

Here are some other tidbits coming to Tarkov per the showcase:

  • Bipods
  • New weapons (M60)
  • Hideout areas
  • Mannequins and more display mechanics in the Hideout
  • A new secure stash box
  • New apparel
  • Crossovers between Arena and Escape from Tarkov
  • ‘Arena Boxes’ – loot boxes, essentially
  • Factory rework
  • Tripwires and landmines (both AI and players) on containers and dead bodies
  • PMC Karma

There’s plenty more coming – so stay tuned.
