Earlier today, Rockstar Games unveiled a slew of information about Grand Theft Auto 6’s radio stations, revealing some preview products that are designed to give prospective players a taste (listen?) of things to come. Alongside the announcement, the team also released three GTA 6 screenshots that showcase some incredible lighting effects.
You might have screenshot fatigue by now, given that Rockstar Games and select media partners have unveiled well over one hundred images in the run-up to the game’s release, but these new shots are sumptuous as all hell.
GTA 6 Images Reveal Incredible Lighting
The first thing you notice in the newest GTA 6 screenshots is easily the mind-blowing lighting, reflections, and particle effects.
Here’s the first image:

The reflections in the puddles are tickling my brain, and there isn’t a single pixel that’s out of place. It might be a touch oversaturated, but the neon lighting in the background is absolutely gorgeous, and there’s even a lot to pick apart from the scene in terms of small details.
For instance, the dancers that appear to be all over the rooftops and awnings of the Ocean View Hotel, the (assumed) hirable scooters that must be parodying Lime Scooters, and the deep parallax effects that give the apartments in the distance a sense of being populated.
Here’s the second image:

It’s less eye-catching, but it’s a nice representation of traffic density and diversity. No two cars are the same, and we can see all kinds of vehicles on display: there’s a boat, a helicopter, and a large commercial airliner in the distance.
The sign that directs us to the ‘Vice City Oceanarium ENTRANCE’ might be a nod to one of the many points of interest in Leonida that represent side activities. In this case, an aquarium. We already know there’s a zoo with almost two hundred animal species, after all. Perhaps the Oceanarium is that yellow structure to the right of the image.
Here’s the third and final image:

This image showcases car enthusiasts at a meet outside the ‘Conch King’ restaurant. Again, bright colors are front and centre, with the neon glow under the cars popping brightly against the dark, night-time environment.
There’s a huge amount of detail to pull from this shot.
First off, the crowd. If this is a random, spontaneous meet and not something scripted, it shows just how varied these crowds can be. They’re hanging out, sitting in the trunk or leaning on the hoods of cars; some are playing dice or card games, others are drinking, and some are smoking.
In the background, we can see a guy rifling through a trash can, while the smoke and exhaust fumes from the scene cast a haze around the setting, mixing delightfully well with floodlights and lampposts.
In case it wasn’t immediately obvious, I absolutely love poring through these screenshots.
