Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Will Include MK Trilogy

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection received a new trailer today, confirming the inclusion of the original MK Trilogy and the physical release date.

Mortal Kombat 1 support ended in May 2025, and since then, players have been eagerly waiting for new Mortal Kombat content. Worry not, as there is loads of content to look forward to. We already have a trailer for Mortal Kombat 2, the movie, and now we also have a physical release date for the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Physical Release Date Confirmed

The new Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection trailer provided players with two essential bits of information. Firstly, MK Trilogy is being included in the collection. Secondly, pre-orders for the physical edition of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection are now live on Atari.com. Mortal Kombat Trilogy was first released in 1996 as the second and final update to MK3, and it introduced the ‘Aggresor’ bar and the Brutality mechanic. Interested readers can check out the new trailer below:

There are 2 Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection physical editions that players can purchase for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and the Switch 2 and one edition that includes the Xbox consoles as well. The Standard edition is priced at $59.99 and includes only the base game. Then there’s a Deluxe Edition, which costs $69.99 and includes a steelbook case, arcade flyers, lenticular cards, a collector’s box, a magnet, arcade cabinet cards, and mini-marquees.

Then there’s the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Kollector’s Edition, which comes with a premium Kollector’s Box, individually numbered, foiled, and embossed. It also includes a Commemorative Arcade Token with an acrylic display stand, a Goro controller holder, a Handcover art, and a Lore Box, as well as a Scorpion/Sub-Zero pin set.

Regarding Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, its digital release date was accidentally revealed by Xbox; however, it has yet to be confirmed. What are your thoughts on Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection adding the MK Trilogy? Let us know through the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.
