Modern Warfare 2 & 3 Ports Rumor Has Been Shut Down

Stories spread quickly on social media, and Call of Duty fans suddenly became very excited to hear about potential Modern Warfare 2 & 3 Ports. With other CoD ports in the works, it would have been cool to get newer versions of iconic MW games, but it’s not happening, unfortunately. At least not yet.

Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 ports are coming to PlayStation in July.

We know everything about them, including their platforms, multiplayer component, file sizes, and whether they’re remasters. However, before they were even released, talk of MW2 and MW3 ports emerged.

Don’t Count on Modern Warfare 2 & 3 Ports

Many Twitter accounts have been recirculating news that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and 3 are getting ports, similar to the upcoming Black Ops ports.

However, this rumor was swiftly debunked on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit page.

Two links on ORBISPatches take you straight to pages about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. If you check the page, though, it says the pages were ‘Last updated 1 month ago,’ at the time of writing.

But Potential-Walrus-412 and several other users pointed out that these are ‘Modern Warfare II (2022) and Modern Warfare III (2023),’ and this leak actually surfaced weeks ago, and was subsequently ‘Debunked weeks ago.’

PlayStation Game Size confirmed as much, too.

So, no new MW2 or MW3 ports are happening then.

We’ve seen MW2 return with a remastered campaign, and all of its multiplayer maps remade for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Still, we wait on MW3 Remastered news.

If you’re eager for more CoD, then check out the Modern Warfare 4 trailer.
