Movistar KOI have yet again qualified for the League of Legends World Championships after their latest win in the LEC Summer Playoffs.
MKOI defeated Natus Vincere 3-1 in the first game of the LEC Season Finals arena show in Nice, France.
NAVI will now compete in its first international LoL tournament in the new Demacia Cup Global Invitational.
Meanwhile, Jungler Javier ‘Elyoya’ Prades Batalla has maintained his record of never missing a Worlds with his sixth consecutive qualification.
MKOI Defeat NAVI 3-1
It could have been a straight 3-0 for MKOI had held onto their lead in Game 1.
With Worlds qualification on the line, the first match was a cagey affair at first. NAVI’s mid jungle had gotten ahead but then MKOI won the first big skirmish.
But the match exploded into life when LEC Rookie of the Year Enes ‘Rhilech’ Uçan got a triple kill with his lethality Jarvan build and NAVI took Soul Point.
However, Elyoya won two large Smite fights and the next Drake and then Baron to wrestle control back in his team’s favour.
Eventually MKOI secured Soul themselves and looked set to win the match.
But a fantastic Syndra double stun onto MKOI’s bot lane by Yoon ‘Poby’ Sung-won, allowed Lee ‘SamD’ Jae-hoon to get a triple kill.
Suddenly, NAVI raced down mid and ended the game out of nowhere, winning while still behind in gold.

NAVI’s Mistakes Cost Them
NAVI would not get so lucky again.
In Game 2, MKOI took a very risky and skillshot-heavy comp that needed to get an early lead. NAVI just needed to play safe for the first 15 minutes.
However, instead Rhilech and NAVI’s bot lane went for a ridiculous early invade onto Raptors and were punished heavily.
That gifted MKOI three kills and essentially the match. When David ‘Supa’ Martínez García got a triple on Kalista nine minutes in, the win was locked.
And then for the next two matches, NAVI’s inexperience showed again and foolish mistakes cost them.
After getting stomped in Game 3, it looked like NAVI were going to respond with a stomp of their own.
However, NAVI got caught split up at Dragon with SamD’s fed Sivir completely exposed, handing the game and series to MKOI.
MKOI will now compete against rivals Karmine Corp to try and reach the LEC final and challenge G2 for the title.
