Virtuos, the studio rumored to be working on the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake has listed Konami as a client on its official website.
As spotted by Reddit user u/throwawayyy200200, Virtuos has also listed the FOX Engine as an engine that the company has experience in. The engine has been used to develop Metal Gear Solid V and the Pro Evolution Soccer/eFootball series.
It could suggest that the company has been doing some work on the eFootball series, but rumors of a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake have been circulating for some time. Horror game-related leaker AestheticGamer chimed in on the rumors of something relating to Metal Gear Solid remasters this past summer.
A recent recruitment video by Virtuos several weeks ago sparked huge discussions online as a copy of The Art of Metal Gear Solid can be seen sitting conspicuously on the desk.
Excitement for a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake was proven last week too, with one fan creating a fake announcement video for The Game Awards. Insider Gaming was able to find proof that the video was fake.
Both updates could indicate that subtle teases are being thrown out into the public eye, but as of yet both Virtuos nor Konami have officially commented on the rumors.
As reported by the Konami website, the entire Metal Gear series has reportedly amassed a total of 58 million sales worldwide. The chart on its website shows off its top-selling computer and video games, Metal Gear is its second-highest-grossing IP ranking below the eFootball series and above the PAWAFURU PUROYAKYU series.
