Insomniac has just unveiled a brand new free content update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that brings new suits into the pictures. 8 new suits will be introduced, some of them are based on new designs whereas others are returning favourites from the previous instalments of the franchise. The update will be released on June 18, 2024, and with the suits, we can also expect the developers to add some stability improvements to the game.
Four new suits have arrived through a collaboration with American artist and fashion designer, Colm Dillane or KidSuper. The first one is from the designer himself called the Metro Suit, which has a puffer design inspired by his collection along with an exclusive and original colourway. Now Spidey can be dripped out while saving the civilians of New York.
The second suit has been co-designed by Brazilian Footballer, Vini Jr. His suit is called the Ginga Suit and it showcases the footballer’s love for his country. The suit features the colours and accents from the Brazilian flag along with a sportier look for Miles Morales. With the Ginga Suit Spider-Man looks ready to win another Champions League trophy.
The third suit has been co-designed by British-Belgium motorsport racer, Lando Norris and his design is called the Fluro suit. The main inspiration behind his design “is the feeling of speed” and he also wished to give a touch of racing to the suit, which is why the mask looks like a helmet. All that remains is an F1 car to rule the streets of Manhattan
The fourth suit has been co-designed by Japanese singer, actress and model Rina Sawayama. The Motorchic Suit adds a leather jacket and trousers to Spider-Man, with metal detailing. It brings out the inner motorbike rider in Spidey.
In terms of the returning favourites, the one that fans won’t miss is Peter Parker’s Spider-Man suit from Into the Spider-Verse movie. Next up we have Peter Parker’s Last Stand suit. In third, we receive a slightly animated version of the Miles Morales suit. Last but not least is The Uptown Pride suit from Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
The new suits will arrive with updated version 1.003.000 along with some stability fixes. Additionally, the developers have addressed some player feedback too and will now introduce the “ability to swap out your parry and traversal abilities from the Symbiote to Spider Arms, and vice versa”.
