Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has weighed in on the latest Suidice Squad: Kill The Justice League delay, stating that the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in September could have been a factor. Of course, such claims of Spider-Man 2 releasing in September aren’t new, with Tony Todd, Venom’s voice actor claiming the game will release in September last month.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been somewhat of an enigma since it was initially revealed by Sony in September 2021. Official communication has been lackluster, but with a new PlayStation Showcase on the horizon, we should hear more officially soon.
Although we could not independently verify the release date for Spider-Man 2, the rumored release date makes a lot of sense that is in line with the new PlayStation 5 release. Insider Gaming has reported extensively these past few months that Sony is preparing to launch a new revision of the PlayStation 5, that sports a detachable disc drive.
Coincidentally, this new revision of the console is scheduled to hit shelves in September of this year, with production starting this month. Speaking with sources, Insider Gaming understands that September is forecasted to be the ‘next big month’ for Sony in terms of PlayStation 5 sales, with a forecast of 3.2 million units. The jump in sales will be around 115% from the forecasted 1.5 million units in August, with an expected 20% drop in October before a huge increase in November for the holidays.
If the September release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is believed, it seems like Sony could be preparing to launch the new revision of the PS5 alongside it. After all, what better way to launch a new revision into the market alongside the console’s most anticipated game as a bundle?
It won’t be long until the speculation and rumors end, but what do you think? Do you think a September release for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is likely? Let us know down below.
