Marvel Cosmic Invasion Demo Data Mine Finds Two New Heroes

The new demo for Marvel Cosmic Invasion has been data-mined, and two unannounced heroes have been found.

Just today, a free, limited-time demo of Dotemu’s Marvel Cosmic Invasion came out on Steam. In it, you can play across two levels with nine heroes with co-op multiplayer. The demo only lasts until October 20th, so many were quick to get on it. Given that the game doesn’t have a release date outside of this year, many are curious to know more. Unfortunately, some have data-mined the demo, and it reveals some yet-to-be-announced material, including DLC and two new heroes for the base roster.

Iron Man and Phoenix Join Marvel Cosmic Invasion, According to Data Mine

Fans on Reddit data-mined the recent demo for Marvel Cosmic Invasion and revealed images of two new heroes: Iron Man and Phoenix. The characters had icons and sprites alongside other heroes like Rocket Raccoon and Black Panther. In addition, source code showing plans for DLC is in the files, though there are no further details. If the leak is true, it’s likely Phoenix and Iron Man are the final additions to the roster, with future characters as DLC.

While it may be true, take it with a grain of salt. Still, both characters do feel like shoe-ins for any Marvel title, especially Iron Man. Regardless, the news of DLC does have fans on Reddit excited, with many hoping the Fantastic Four are next. For the latter, the Baxter Building was seen in the files alongside familiar locations and bosses, so it’s reasonable to think Marvel’s First Family will show up somewhere. In any case, the data mine, while unfortunate, seems to have many pumped to see more. Currently, Marvel Cosmic Invasion is releasing this year, so only time will tell when fans will get to play the full game.

What do you think about the Marvel Cosmic Invasion data mine? Were Iron Man and Phoenix your picks for the roster? Let us know in the comments below and on the forums!
