Marvel Games has announced its latest game, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.
Releasing in 2025, the game will be developed by new studio Skydance New Media that is being led by Amy Hennig, formerly of EA and Naughty Dog, among other studios.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is a “narrative-driven action-adventure” title that will focus around for main characters: Steve Rodgers aka Captain America, T’Challa’s grandfather Azzuri and the Black Panther from the World War II era, US Soldier Gabriel Jones, and Wakandan spy Nanali.
“In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s, must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy,” Skydance New Media says.
“Fighting alongside Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris, they must join forces to stop a sinister plot that threatens to turn the havoc of WWII into the ultimate rise of Hydra.”
In addition to the game’s announcement, the studio and Marvel Games released an extended story trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.
No official platforms were revealed as of writing, but the game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5.
