EA Sports is going running back in back-to-back years for the first time ever. On Monday, it was revealed that Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley will be the cover athlete for Madden 26.
Barkley follows San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, who was on the cover of Madden 25.
In his first year with the Eagles, Barkley helped guide the franchise to its second Super Bowl title and delivered one of the most memorable moments in NFL history.

The game will feature two covers. The Standard Edition features that memorable moment when Barkley hurdled backwards over Jacksonville Jaguars defensive back Jarrian Jones. Looking closer, however, it shows that both Jones and the Jaguars branding are removed from the cover. The Deluxe Edition is more subdued with it a dimly-lit Barkley looking back over his shoulder. You can check out both full covers for yourself below.
According to EA Sports, Madden 26 will feature new signature QB tendencies, unique coaching schemes, and game-changing weather. The game’s full reveal will come at a later date.
Madden 26 launches on August 14. Those who buy the Deluxe Edition will get access starting on August 11.
