UPDATED: Madden 23 Franchise Mode is once again back up and available for players. The Madden NFL Direct account updated players but didn’t provide any details as to what caused the problem in the first place.
ORIGINAL: If you’re hoping to play some Madden 23 Franchise Mode today, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news. EA Sports has announced that it is making the mode unavailable for the time being due an unknown issue.
“The team is currently investigating an issue with Franchise Mode,” the official Madden NFL Direct Twitter account posted. “During this time, Franchise will be gated on all platforms. We will update the thread below with more information, thank you!”
This isn’t the first time that Madden 23 has faced issues with Franchise Mode. Late last year a server and database issue caused the corruption and loss of numerous online franchises for players. This led to players having to completely restart their franchise if EA wasn’t able to recover them.
As a response to that issue, EA Sports announced that anyone impacted by the loss would receive Madden 24 for 50% off.
Recently, Insider Gaming reported that Madden 24 is being viewed as a “make or break” release for the series. If the game continues to be plagued by the same issues the current release has, it could lead to changes within the game’s leadership team.
Insider Gaming has reached out to EA Sports to try and get clarification on what the issue causing problems is. Should a response be received, this story will be updated accordingly. It will also be updated when the mode is made available to players.
