Riot Games has released a preview for the next League of Legends update, LoL Patch 26.14, with more substantial changes to the meta.
Lead gameplay designer Matt ‘Phroxzon’ Leung-Harrison has reflected on the MSI meta so far.
After nerfing the strongest bot lane picks, mages have become more prevalent, but Phroxzon says that’s ok though Seraphine is also too strong in solo queue.
There will also be nerfs to Locke just one patch after his release and buffs to Nami, Yunara, and Corki amongst the changes.

Riot’s Thoughts on Locke’s Release Balance
LoL’s newest champion Locke has proven to be pretty popular and in his first patch sports a respectable 46.63% win-rate as a new champion with a high pick rate.
Yet, Riot is nerfing him in the next patch.
“He’s shown to be a little skill skewed in the same way that a Katarina, Akshan, or other resetty, roamy champions might be, but not overly so – that said he’s still a bit strong when account for mastery growth and true power level,” says Phroxzon.
With this, Riot believes that Locke’s early snowballing is a little too strong.

While players are frustrated with the assassin’s damage output, Riot is nerfing his reliable waveclear instead.
