Tencent recently submitted a new trademark application to the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office), requesting the registration of a new game called Honor of Kings: ACE. Not much is known about this game beyond what the filing indicates, but it looks as though it’ll be a PC game with an esports angle.
This is a drastic pivot, taking Honor of Kings away from the mobile-centric ecosystem it has enjoyed for many years as one of the top-grossing MOBAs in the space.
What Do We Know About Honor of Kings: Ace?
Right now, all we know about Honor of Kings: Ace is that the project is in the registration phase, with Tencent applying for an EU-based trademark for the brand name. This was discovered recently by ThePhraseMaker, who makes many of the same assumptions that I would.

Firstly, it looks as though Honor of Kings: Ace will be a PC game and not a mobile-focused title. That’s enough of a change off the bat for this project to be super intriguing, of course.
It also looks as though Honor of Kings: Ace will support an esports ecosystem, leaning into the competitive gaming circuit accommodated so well by the mobile title. This, again, is a very ‘common sense’ assumption, given the power HoK has in the competitive gaming market already.
There’s also a reference to Honor of Kings: Ace bearing the hallmarks of a live-service game, which again makes complete sense.

Tencent is working on another HoK game as we speak, called Honor of Kings: World. This is a confirmed and marketed open-world RPG akin to Genshin Impact, and users are pre-registering online now to get access to the playtests whenever they go live.
