LEC organisation Team Vitality has announced that its secondary League of Legends team, Vitality.Bee, is shutting down its operations.
The academy team has been part of the LFL, France’s EMEA Regional League (ERL), since the league’s inception in 2019.
Many LEC talents came through the organisation, including Oskar ‘Selfmade’ Boderek, Josip ‘Jopa’ Čančar, and current Vitality star Kaan’Naak Nako’ Okan.
In seven years, Vitality.Bee never won an LFL Playoffs title, though it did win two French Cups and reach an EMEA Masters final.
Why Vitality Is Shutting Its Academy
Team Vitality co-founder Fabien ‘Neo’ Devide recorded a video adding more context behind the organisation’s decision.
Neo suggested this decision wasn’t necessarily permanent, stating: “With a heavy heart, we have decided to pause, for now, our LFL activities.”
The Frenchman mentioned the uncertainty around the league following organiser Webedia’s departure was a strong factor in the decision and said that the ERL ecosystem needs to evolve to make reinvestment worthwhile.
And Neo also revealed that finances played a role, revealing that “trade-offs” had to be made and that the team wants to invest further into its LEC team.

Vitality had another disappointing LEC season despite promising performances.
After finishing first and second in the Spring and Summer Split regular seasons, respectively, Vitality then failed to win a single Playoffs series.
The team is now competing in the Demacia Cup Global Invitational and will next face KT Rolster in the quarterfinals.
As for Vitality.Bee, Neo left room for a return in the future, stating:
“This is not a farewell; it’s more a see you soon, and we hope to revisit all of this and come back with the desire to make a difference.”
