A LEGO-themed version of Cities: Skylines looks to be on the horizon after the title was among a flood of games officially rated for the Korean market.
LEGO’s long-standing presence in the video game industry, most recently with the release of TT Games’ LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, is widespread, and a fresh spin-off looks to be around the corner.
LEGO Skylines Rated in Korea
As reported by Gematsu, LEGO Skylines is among a wealth of games rated in Korea, alongside the likes of Persona 4 Revival, Gears of War: E-Day, and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
While some of those have already been officially revealed, LEGO Skylines is the outlier, as there has been no reveal of the title, but the rating in Korea suggests that news is around the corner.
With Summer Games Fest season set to kick off, including the likes of Gamescom in the months ahead, there could be a reveal taking place, and a LEGO Skylines game is an interesting prospect.
Cities: Skylines, released in 2015, is a city-building game, where players manage urban planning, including zoning, road placement, taxation, public services, and public transport, which LEGO would fit into seamlessly with a host of LEGO City sets released over the years. A sequel was released in 2023.
Unlike Sim City, there are no natural disasters and destruction in Cities: Skylines, and instead, the challenge is built around building. A similar approach is therefore expected for a LEGO version of the game.
The rating lists Paradox Interactive as the developer, who are behind the Cities: Skylines franchise, and the details of LEGO’s involvement are not revealed.
