Riot Games is set to honor the passing of Lauri ‘Cyanide’ Happonen with in-game rewards, according to a well-known League of Legends leaker.
The passing of the Finnish Jungler was initially reported by Finnish news outlet Ilta-Sanomat on October 27. It was later confirmed that the former Fnatic player had passed away on July 31, only a week after his appearance in the LEC as part of a LoL Classic EU LCS show match.
Riot Games set to Honor Cyanide with League of Legends in-game content
The ‘LeagueofLeaks’ X account has claimed that Cyanide is set to be honored in League of Legends with a new title, with players also able to unlock his Fnatic Jarvan IV skin.
Players are set to be able to unlock the “Young Legend Cyanide” title as well as Cyanide’s Fnatic Jarvan IV skin. Cyanide remains the youngest player ever to win Worlds, claiming the 2011 victory at 16 years of age.
His Jarvan IV skin remains popular, 15 years after Fnatic’s victory at the Season 1 Championships, aka Worlds 2011. Following the news of the Fnatic Jungler’s passing, multiple players at Worlds 2026 honored Cyanide’s passing by playing with the Fnatic Jarvan IV skin in the Swiss Stage of the event.
Both BLG Jungler Peng ‘Xun’ Li-Xun and Team Secret Whales’ Lê Văn ‘Hizto’ Hoàng Hải played using the skin after the news of his passing.
The giveaway rumour is in line with the in-game dedication that Riot Games granted Maciej ‘Shushei’ Ratuszniak upon his passing in April 2025.
Shushei won the League of Legends Season 1 World Championship alongside Cyanide in 2011. He was honored with in-game with a new in-game title, “Shushei Forever,” with players also earning his Fnatic Gragas skin when playing three games on the champion.
How to unlock the Cyanide tribute title and skin
Unlocking the content will be very easy for players, as the content is set to be automatically added to a player’s collection upon completing three games as Jarvan IV.
Upon playing three games as Jarvan IV, players will unlock the following content:
- Fnatic Jarvan IV skin
- “Young Legend Cyanide” title
