League of Legends Patch 26.10 Preview: Gluttonous Greaves Nerfs

Riot Games has revealed what changes are coming to League of Legends in LoL Patch 26.10 next week (May 13).

Earlier this year, the publisher confirmed that LoL will receive smaller midseason patches this year.

And Patch 26.10 is one of them, with just nine champion changes scheduled for the update so far.

Lead gameplay designer Matt ‘Phroxzon’ Leung-Harrison revealed the upcoming changes, but only added context to some item and rune changes that are coming to the game.

Phroxzon Explains Upcoming Item and Rune Changes

Phroxzon claims that the biggest changes this patch will be to the nerfs to the Deathfire Touch rune and the Gluttonous Greaves item.

Deathfire was already nerfed a few days ago in a micropatch, with the adaptive damage per second nerfed.

Due to this prior nerf, Phroxzon revealed that this next change will only be a small one, Phroxzon explained his mixed feelings with the rune, saying:

“Deathfire is looking a little too strong, especially in the laning case, but the audience it’s landed on has been great in giving some of these champs a keystone they’re actually happy with.”

Meanwhile, Phroxzon revealed that the Gluttonous Greaves boots are becoming too popular:

“Gluttonous Greaves has picked up a nice new user base, especially Fighters and AD Assassins who might not have another offensive boot option (outside of Lucidity).

“We think the boots are too strong, both in non-mid roles and in mid with the boot upgrade.”

And while there aren’t many major changes this patch, LoL has undergone some surprising updates this year. Especially the added ability to play LoL with a controller following the release of WASD controls.
