This past weekend in the Call of Duty League, Boston Breach fell flat against Paris Gentle Mates, one of just three teams to be nursing a perfect streak so far in the Major 3 qualifiers. Boston put up a fight but ultimately took the loss hard, moving one step closer to a 10-match losing streak.
The team has one series left before Major 3 arrives at DreamHack Atlanta, and things aren’t looking good.
Can Boston Secure One Series Win?
Boston Breach hasn’t won a series since March 8th, when the squad beat the lowest-ranked team of the season in Cloud9 New York during Major 2’s qualifying round. Presently, Boston sits second from bottom in the overall CDL standings, and the team’s sole fixture left in this qualifying stage is against a team they haven’t beaten since a close win in December 2025.
This year has not been kind to Boston. The team has managed to stump up a win-loss record of 6-18, which is one of the worst performances the organization has ever sustained.
Last season, Boston Breach managed to wrap the year with a third-place finish at Champs, a move that nobody saw coming. The team went on a stunning run, pushing LAT and Miami into the lower bracket before falling against OpTic Texas and ultimately being eliminated by Vancouver Surge in the elimination finals.
It was the organization’s best finish at a COD Champs event ever, and it has been followed by this season’s performance, which has been lacklustre to say the least.
Major 1 yielded an eleventh-place finish, and the team failed to qualify for Major 2.
Boston’s final series this split is against G2 on May 9, but can the squad muster up enough energy to secure one win before Major 3 lands in Atlanta?
