After years of declining viewership, League of Legends’ North American league LCS drew in its biggest audience since 2022.
The LCS Summer Finals in which Team Liquid defeated LYON peaked at 279,000 viewers online.
According to Esports Charts, these are the best numbers the LCS has sported since over 370k watched Cloud9 vs 100 Thieves in the 2022 Summer Finals.
Though, this doesn’t take into account last year’s Summer Split final, as 318k watched FlyQuest defeat Vivo Key Stars in the LTA – a combination of the LCS and CBLOL.
LCS Viewership in 2026
This increase is significant as the LCS Spring Split 2026 recorded record-low viewership despite being co-streamed by popular streamer Nicholas ‘Jynxzi’ Stewart.
The Spring regular season recorded an all-time low for North American tier 1 LoL with a peak of just 86.6k.
The LCS Spring 2026 Playoffs then peaked at only 183,152, another record low for the competition.
Though co-streaming did help the Summer Split, as Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont’s broadcast contributed significantly to the viewership.
Additionally, Esports Charts claims that both the English and Spanish language streams saw an increase in viewership.
In fact, the Spanish stream saw a 71.6% improvement from the Spring Split, perhaps aided by LYON’s strong performances.
It also likely helps that this year’s LoL World Championship will be held in North America, perhaps causing many fans to renew their LCS interest.
Though, according to Polymarket users, it’s extremely unlikely for an LCS team to win the tournament.
When it comes to Western viewership in 2026, the LCS was the third-most watched league when judged by peak audiences.
It was still behind the LEC Summer Playoffs (438k) and the LCK Season Finals (1.5 million).
And Brazil’s CBLoL Summer Playoffs are still ongoing, having already recorded a digital audience of over 200k.
