Who Will Win Worlds 2026?
For once, there is no strong favourite heading into Worlds this year with every team showing inconsistency.
The last four Summoner’s Cups have been lifted by a Korean team, so it’s no surpirse that the LCK region is the heavy favourite to produce this year’s Worlds winner too.
Currently, LCK champions Gen.G look to be ahead of the pack after ending the year on a high, though the team was also favourites at the last two Worlds and failed.
Meanwhile, it’s hard to write off T1 who have won the last three World Championships and six Worlds in titles.
T1 and Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok didn’t win a domestic title this year, but they haven’t since Spring 2022 – Worlds T1 can never be written off.
Additionally, two players who participated in multiple T1 Worlds wins, Choi ‘Zeus’ Woo-je and Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyeong, have helped Hanwha Life Esports win MSI and take the LCK by storm.
Meanwhile, the LPL had been dominated by BLG all year until the Summer Split final, won by Anyone’s Legend.
BLG already won international gold this year in First Stand, but even after Chen ‘Bin’ Ze-Bin’s return from a competitive break, the team hasn’t looked quite the same.
And the West’s hopes once again lie on the shoulders of G2 Esports and Team Liquid.
G2 have recorded wins over Gen.G, TES, and T1 this year, only to be eliminated from First Stand and MSI in 3-0 sweeps by BLG and LYON.
