GTA’s Longest-Serving Actor ‘Doubts’ He’ll Be in GTA 6

Lazlow Jones, the longest-serving Grand Theft Auto actor, has answered a question about a potential return in GTA 6, scheduled to launch next May. In 2001, Lazlow first appeared in GTA 3 as a radio DJ, and he would resurface in every successive title in some way, becoming a ‘proper character’ in 2013’s GTA 5.

Lazlow’s last role in a new game was in Red Dead Redemption II, the ‘sister franchise’ to Grand Theft Auto, in 2018. He recently appeared in an interview talking about his new role at Absurd Ventures and whether he’ll be appearing as the infamous radio host in GTA 6.

Will Lazlow Be in GTA 6?

Lazlow enjoyed a storied tenure at Rockstar, appearing as a fan-favourite radio host or personality in every game from GTA 3 to GTA 5. While the majority of his time was spent in a booth providing nothing but vocal work, Lazlow had a much more visible role in GTA 5, getting a couple of hilarious missions focused specifically on the character he’d spent (at that point) more than a decade building.

It comes as no surprise to learn that fans want him back in Grand Theft Auto 6, but is Lazlow reprising his role?

In a recent interview with Nerd Reactor, Lazlow answered that very question:

We left in 2020, so I doubt it. I loved working on those games with Dan (Houser) and I was on the radio in GTA 3 and all the GTAs after that, and it was an amazing journey, working on GTA for 20 years.

Lazlow then went on to stress that several team members who worked on those games have joined him and Dan Houser at Absurd Ventures, a new studio opened in 2021.

It’s got that creative vibe and grit that reminds me of those early years at Rockstar, where we’re working on a lot of different projects, and everyone’s throwing in ideas. We’re working on stuff that makes us laugh, you know?

(Thanks to VideoGamer for the spot)

Even if Lazlow was making a return in Grand Theft Auto 6, there’s no way that Jones could confirm it. Rockstar has pulled the lid down tight on Grand Theft Auto following a spate of leaks in 2022, and the project is buttoned up tight; nobody is talking.

Do you hope Lazlow is coming back in GTA 6? Let me know in the comments.
