Knuckles Series Release Date And Official Trailer Revealed

Paramount has officially revealed a new trailer for the anticipated live-action Knuckles spin-off series, as well as a release date for April 26th.

Fans in the US and Canada can stream it on Paramount Plus that day. However, other territories will have to wait until April 27th. It will release in Japan “later in the year”.

The trailer description confirms this series will take place between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the upcoming third film. It will run for six episodes.

Paramount has not confirmed how long these episodes are. This was an expensive series to produce, so the episodes might be shorter. But a traditional, 20-minute runtime would still offer plenty of content.

The trailer showcases many returning characters from the successful live-action Sonic films. However, there are also some new faces. This includes the villains, who are actively seeking out Knuckles’ power.

Today’s trailer really emphasizes a comedic tone for the series, which closely resembles the humor in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Many of the jokes continue to play off of Knuckles’ serious attitude, interests, and culture.

There were even a few meta jokes. This includes a self-aware nod to Knuckles’ previous line about “power” from the second Sonic movie.

It appears that fans should expect an equal share of action and comedy in the same style as the live-action Sonic movies. Idris Elba’s performance is spot on, remarkably earnest with just the right hint of humor.

Fortunately, the Knuckles release date is much closer than expected.

Sonic video games also continue to thrive, as PlayStation revealed Sonic X Shadow Generations at the latest State of Play. It will release in Fall 2024 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

  • I don’t see reason to watch this it looks generic. They should just make a new Sonic anime, bring back Sonic X, or make a Shadow anime with the Post-Dreamcast characters since the Genesis/SatAm fans hate them.
