Katana ZERO creator Justin Stander confirmed the game’s DLC is now as big as a full sequel, with over 30 new soundtrack songs. As of now, the plan is still to release the DLC for free.
Katana ZERO DLC Is Now Full Sequel Size After 7 Years

It’s been more than seven years since Askiisoft and Devolver Digital released Katana ZERO. The DLC has been teased for years and even received a trailer in April 2025, confirming it was still coming and would remain free, and directing interested players to Askiisoft on social media for more details.
On social media, Katana ZERO creator Justin Stander announced that the DLC was now the size of a full sequel and even features a new soundtrack of over 30 songs. Still, the new preview had no release date, though the team promised more updates in the future.
In an era when many players complain about the prices of new titles and DLC, many comments encourage Justin to charge for the forthcoming Katana ZERO DLC, indicating that the player base remains hungry for the title.
For those unaware, Katana ZERO describes itself as a ” neo-noir, action-platformer featuring breakneck action and instant-death combat.” It features parry-heavy combat and stylish pixelated graphics. The game has overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam and an 83 score on Metacritic. The game is also available on Nintendo Switch platforms.
Insider Gaming will continue to monitor the story and report any updates as more information becomes available.
