In recent hours, the news broke regarding the passing of Kamar de los Reyes, a gifted actor and the personality behind one of Call of Duty’s most iconic villains. It was revealed that Reyes had passed away following a battle with cancer. Reyes’ family confirmed that he died at his home in Los Angeles.
The Greatest Villain
Kamar de los Reyes played Raul Menendez in Black Ops II, Black Ops 4, and Call of Duty: Vanguard. In the series, Menendez headed up the faction known as ‘Cordis Die’, a multinational terrorist organisation with a monumental grudge against the United States of America. He remains one of the most memorable villains in the Call of Duty series, on par with Modern Warfare’s Vladimir Makarov.
Outside of Call of Duty, Kamar de los Reyes was a talented actor, and since his work on Black Ops II, he had started in dozens of productions across film, television, and the theatre. Most recently, he starred in All-American, The Rookie, and The Passage. His far-reaching career was kicked off with a small part in a movie in 1988, and following his recent passing, his peers took to social media to express their sadness at the loss of a legendary performer.
