A Frontier Developments dev has confirmed that Jurassic World Evolution 3 is no longer using generative AI for scientist portraits/avatars. This is presumably as a result of the intended backlash the game has faced following the AI revelation.
The Jurassic World Evolution retains a loyal fanbase who enjoy making parks and dealing with the everyday rigors that come with looking after dangerous dinosaurs. Jurassic World Evolution 3 was revealed at Summer Game Fest 2025, and it became less about the rawr and more about the uproar.
Jurassic World Evolution 3 Gets Rid of Generative AI

Soon after Jurassic World Evolution 3 was announced, its Steam page confirmed the game’s use of AI tools—mainly the use of generative AI to create scientist portraits.
In the grand scheme of things, this is a tiny bit of the game’s content. It still didn’t go down well with players, and one community Steam post was particularly ferocious in its criticism.
The OP said: “So we giving up on humans is that it? May as well not make a game, drink, sleep, walk, or do anything. Sad. It is quite literally inexpensive and the easiest thing to do by: picking up up the nearby paper, mechanical pencil or ink pen and get to drawing/designing. Seriously? Ya’ll are pathetic and that desperate where, you can’t possibly design things yourself but willing to bend over/glaze for the AI washing machine like a prostitute? Nope I will not support this, the lack of self awareness and appallingly low IQ.”
Other comments followed suit: “Using AI-generated content is downright insulting to artists, and it’s nothing more than pure laziness by Frontier Developments,” said one, whereas another added: “While the AI here used IS minimal, it still sets a really bad precedent and is just plain lazy.”
A response came from the JWE3 team 17 days later, on June 24: “Thanks for your feedback on this topic. We have opted to remove the use of generative AI for scientist portraits within Jurassic World Evolution 3.“
