How to Download the Next-Gen Update for Fallout 4 on PS5
To download the next-gen update for Fallout 4 on PlayStation 5 using a digital copy bought from the PlayStation Store, don’t rely on the system to automatically download and install anything for you. Unfortunately, it doesn’t, though Bethesda is looking into a fix for the issue. You must first visit the digital storefront on your console, search for Fallout 4, and then claim the next-gen update for your account. Once you do, it will begin to download and install the new update for your game.
If you own Fallout 4 for PS4 on a disc, insert your disc into the PS5 system. Once you do, visit the Game Hub and click on the three dots. Select ‘View Product,‘ then choose ‘Free PS5 Upgrade.’ Once you select this option, the system will automatically download the next-gen update on PS5!
It’s important to note that if you own the disc version of the game, you must still insert the disc each time you want to play. Even with the PS5 upgrade, it requires the PS4 disc.
