Counter-Strike 2 has officially been announced by Valve, and players can get in on the action starting today via the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test. But how can you play Counter-Strike 2?
To get access to the Limited Test, Valve is currently selecting players to take part in it.
“Players are selected based on a number of factors deemed important by the Counter-Strike 2 development team, including (but not limited to) recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing,” the company says.
Players who are selected will be notified in-game via a notification in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) main menu. Those selected will have to choose to enroll, and then download the test.
Once downloaded, players will launch CS:GO and select the “Limited Test” option to play.
If you don’t happen to be selected at first, Valve says not to worry.
“More players will be added to the Limited Test over time,” Valve says. “Keep checking your CS:GO main menu to see if you have received an invite.”
If you do happen to get into the Limited Test, you will only be able to play other players who are in it. That said, you can go back and play CS:GO at any time. However, if you were banned from CS:GO, you won’t be getting in to the Counter-Strike 2 limited test.
The game’s full release is scheduled for summer 2023. You can get more information on the Limited Test via the game’s FAQ section on it.
