Fortnite would be nothing without the nearly 3,000 skins and cosmetics you can unlock, earn, and buy. Most of the game’s popularity comes from the staggering array of crossover events and collaborations that have surfaced over the years, but some of these skins can be pretty darn expensive.
That being said, I’m going to do you a favor here. I’m going to let you know how to get free Fortnite skins in 2026, because you might be gaming on a budget without cash to spare for Fortnite cosmetics and bundles.
Read on to learn how to get free Fortnite skins right now.
Can You Get Free Fortnite Skins?
I’ll be honest: it’s really tough to get totally free Fortnite skins. It’s even harder to get free Fortnite outfits that mean anything. I mean, you’re hardly going to see a pop culture collaboration yield free cosmetics, let’s put it that way.
In some cases, you can get free Fortnite skins when you do something else involving money, such as purchasing something in the Epic Games Store. Alternatively, you can unlock free Fortnite outfits when you place at the top of a tournament or participate in some special, limited-time event.
Pixel Polli is Free, Though
Here’s a great example of how to get a totally free Fortnite skin: Pixel Polli.
To unlock Pixel Polli, you’ll need to master 28 Sprites in-game. This isn’t so hard, but it’s a grind. You’ll need to raise 28 Sprites to level five and extract them from your match. In terms of how long that takes, it’s estimated that it could take two to three matches to get one sprite to level five.
That means getting Pixel Polli for free could take anything from 56 to 84 matches, on average.
Bear in mind that, at the time of writing, you’ve only got until November 1, 2026, to unlock Pixel Polli, so you’d best get grinding.
And What About LEGO?
If you’re a LEGO Insider, you can pick up a couple more free Fortnite skins, and they’re much easier to get – but that means they’re not as rare by far.
You can get Explorer Emilie and Mr. Dappermint by following some simple steps:
- Log in to your account on Epic Games
- Navigate to ‘Apps and Accounts’ and connect your LEGO account
- Log in with your LEGO Insiders credentials
- Boot Fortnite on your linked account to see the new skins in your library
How To Get Free Fortnite Skins With Purchases
If you’re a multi-faceted gamer and buy many titles via the Epic Games Store, you’ll be happy to know that, by doing so, you can unlock free Fortnite skins. At the time of writing in October 2026, the following skins could be unlocked for free when buying other premium games:
- Sonic Racing: Crossworlds (Unlocks Doctor Eggman)
- Control Resonant (Unlocks Dylan Faden)
- Cyberpunk 2077 (Unlocks Adam Smasher)
- Resident Evil: Requiem (Unlocks Grace Ashcroft)
- Crimson Desert (Unlocks Kliff)
- Arknights Endfield (Unlocks Perlica)
- Phantom Blade Zero (Unlocks Soul)
- Cronos: The New Dawn (Unlocks The Traveler)
- Rematch (Unlocks Coach Gabi)
- Dave the Diver (Unlocks Dave the Diver)
Fortnite Promo Codes (October 2026)
As of October 2026, there were no Fortnite promo codes available for redemption.
Any new codes are rarely published, as Epic tends to rely more on the Support-a-Creator system for things like this. It’s still a good idea to bookmark this page and check back regularly, though, just in case.
