In the latest Tarkov update (0.16.5.5), players will now find that they’re able to port across battle pass rewards from Tarkov: Arena into the core extraction shooter platform. This includes rewards such as tactical clothing, currency, and supply crates. The rewards are even available for those playing PvE, except for anything tied to Ref.
The patch also addresses a ‘global rework’ for Ref’s tasks in the PvP mode. His repository of items has also been bolstered with stacks of new offers, and the workbench has been updated to feature ‘Arena Crate’ craft items that must be opened with a hand drill.
How To Get Arena Crates in Tarkov
To get Arena Crates in Escape from Tarkov, you’ll need to boot up Escape from Tarkov: Arena and start grinding the Season 0 Battle Pass. As you progress through the levels, you’ll naturally unlock Arena Crates that contain a wide variety of valuables, including:
- Intel
- TerraGroup Blue Folders
- Bitcoin
- LEDX
- Marked Keys
- Military Electronics
They’re veritable feasts of high-value gear, but to unlock them, you’ll need to work your way up the 100+ reward tiers in the Season 0 Battle Pass in Arena.
The Arena Crates are split into several categories: equipment, valuables, supply, and weapons. It takes one minute to open them in the Workbench, and you’ll need to have a hand drill to do so, so expect the Flea price for those to skyrocket in the coming days.
The 0.16.5.5 patch also updates the cell layout for the Theta container, which is only available for the most skilled Tarkov: Arena players.
If you’ve been struggling to complete Ref’s tasks, I’ve got great news for you. This patch from Battlestate Games makes his tasks easier on a global scale, and the rewards you get for completing them have all been boosted across the board. The toughest completion conditions have been removed entirely and everything to do with Ref is much more balanced.
This is almost certainly because Battlestate Games wants players to be more actively involved in both games. It’s no big secret that Tarkov: Arena hasn’t fared too well since being released in December 2023.

With the way that they treat…well, SPT is still the best way to play PvE Tarkov. The treatment of their PvE players is another reason added to the many reasons why.
