If you’re working to complete the “Herd Thinning” Personal Order, you’re likely wondering about Hunters in Helldivers 2. As their name would suggest, these slow-moving, methodical bugs track you and strike fast and hard. Even worse is they usually travel in small herds of two to three. Here is how to find and defeat Helldivers 2 Hunters!

Where to Find Hunters in Helldivers 2

You can find Hunters in Helldivers 2 on any bug-infested planet on the Galaxy Map. They start to spawn at the earliest difficulty level, Trivial, and will continue to spawn through to the most challenging setting. You’ve spotted them previously. Hunters are white-orange bugs with large, sharpened legs, pincers, and a scorpion-like tail. They move slowly at first until they close the distance and launch their attack. Once they do, they hit hard.

It’s common to find Hunters in and around the various nests. They usually stick to the cover of the rocks, sneaking up on players with ease. Occasionally, however, you’ll spot them patrolling the open plains, too.

How to Beat Hunters in Helldivers 2

To complete the Personal Order, you must kill 25 Hunters in Helldivers 2. That’s easier said than done, as you may only stumble upon six or seven during a mission. It will take some time to tackle this unless you intend to stay on-planet for the allotted time per mission.

As they move slowly initially, you typically have time to place a few rounds into the front or underside of Hunters. They fall relatively quickly, no matter what weapon you’re using, but while you’re focused on them, something else is sneaking up on your flank. As such, I do recommend slowly walking backward as you shoot. So long as your backside is clear, you should be okay with taking down any number of Hunters. The Stalwart Stratagem is perfect for picking them off with speed and enthusiasm!
