ARC Raiders has a host of Quests up for completion that can offer some handy rewards, and the Headwinds update has added a few more.
One of them is the ‘With A View’ Quest, which you can get from Shani, the Security Trader. She needs you to go to Stella Montis and help her investigate the streaks of light in the sky, but she needs two key items to do so: an Ion Sputter and a Rotary Encoder.
Finding both of these items is crucial to completing the Quest, but they can be awfully tricky to find. Luckily for you, this guide will walk you through the ‘With A View’ Quest in ARC Raiders, as well as show you where to go looking for those two rare items.
How To Complete ‘With A View’ Quest In ARC Raiders
To complete ‘With A View’ In ARC Raiders, you’ll need to head to Stella Montis and look for an Ion Sputter and Rotary Encoder.
Overall, there are five steps to the Quest, but thankfully, they don’t all need to be completed in one round. The steps are listed below:
- Obtain a Rotary Encoder
- Visit any of the Control Rooms near the Assembly Line
- Use the Rotary Encoder to activate the server switch
- Interact with a nearby computer to help identify the correct parts
- Deliver an Ion Sputter to Shani
In the grand scheme of things, it’s not a difficult Quest, but it can be frustrating if you’re looking for the two necessary items. Both are exclusive to Stella Montis, and you’ll need each of them to complete the Quest. Before we begin the Quest, let’s go over where you can find each item.
Where To Find A Rotary Encoder In ARC Raiders
Rotary Encoders can be found on the Stella Montis map, at three different locations: Assembly Workshops, Medical Research, and Business Center.
Your best bet is to search in and around Assembly, since that’s where the rest of the Quest takes place, but it can be found at the other locations if you’re having a hard time finding one. You’ll want to search white drawers, cabinets, and tool table drawers.
It’s only a Rare item, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find, but if you spawn in late to a Raid, it can make it especially tricky. Assembly is one of the more popular hotspots for looters, so unless you spawn nearby, it might be best to check the other locations.
Where To Find Ion Sputters In ARC Raiders
Ion Sputters are an Epic item, and they’re most commonly found in the Assembly Workshops on Stella Montis.
Interestingly, Epic items are fairly easy to find in the Assembly Workshops. Almost every tool table drawer or cabinet seems to have one, but the trouble will be hoping you find the Ion Sputter specifically.
It’s worth highlighting again how busy an area this part of the map can be. Unless you’re in a friendly lobby, be ready to face some resistance from other raiders, and make sure you stick the Ion Sputter in your safe pocket when you do eventually find it—you’ll need to extract with it to complete the Quest.
‘With A View’ Step-By-Step Guide
Now you know where to find the two tricky items, here’s Insider Gaming’s step-by-step guide to completing the ‘With A View’ Quest in ARC Raiders:
- Load into Stella Montis.
- Start by searching for the Rotary Encoder, using the locations mentioned above.
- Once you’ve found it, head to the Assembly Workshops and visit any of the control rooms.
- Once you’re there, look for the glowing yellow control panel. You can interact with it when you’ve got a Rotary Encoder on you.
- After that, you’ll need to interact with a nearby computer. You should see a prompt above some tech nearby.
- That’s the hard part done; now all you need to do is find the Ion Sputter if you haven’t already. Search in the locations mentioned above.
- Once you’ve acquired it, successfully extract and hand it in to Shani to complete the Quest.

When you complete ‘With A View,’ head back to Speranza, where Shani will reward you with some crafting items and a Rare Augment.
