There’s always plenty to do in ARC Raiders, but if you’re ever stuck for direction, you can always turn your attention to Quests. These will often guide you to complete specific tasks on certain maps, and Headwinds has added a fair few more.
One of the first ones you’ll acquire is ‘Combat Recon’ from Shani, the Security Trader. She wants you to go to Buried City and investigate an area surrounding a Bombardier, one of the tougher ARCs.
As usual, though, the directions can be a bit confusing. If you’re looking to complete the ‘Combat Recon’ Quest in ARC Raiders and don’t know where to go, then you’re in the right place; this guide will show you all three scope out locations, as well as how to acquire a Spotter Relay.
How To Complete ‘Combat Recon’ Quest In ARC Raiders
To complete ‘Combat Recon’ in ARC Raiders, you’ll need to head to Buried City and scope out three locations, as well as tangle with some Spotters.
Overall, there are five steps to the Quest, but thankfully, they don’t all need to be completed in one round. The steps are listed below:
- Scope out a cover spot in the Parking Garage staircases
- Scope out a cover spot in the buses near Marano Park
- Scope out a cover spot in the attics around Main Street
- Destroy 2 Spotters
- Deliver a Spotter Relay to Shani
It’s a simple enough Quest, but the trouble can arise when trying to find the three ‘scope out’ locations. The descriptions are notably vague, and if you don’t want to be caught running around Buried City like a headless bird, the three locations are marked on the image below.
With those locations in mind, follow our step-by-step guide to complete the ‘Combat Recon’ Quest in ARC Raiders:
- Load into Buried City.
- Start off by visiting each of the three locations on the map above. At each one, you’ll come across a prompt to ‘Scope Out’.
- Once those are done, you’ll want to find the Bombardier. It can spawn on top of the Parking Garage or in the middle of Marano Park. An easy way to identify it is by looking towards the sky in search of the Spotters—they’re who you’re really after.
- When you find the Spotters, shoot at least two down. Luckily, they spawn in batches of two, but be careful it doesn’t call upon the Bombardier to mortar you!
- When you’ve destroyed two Spotters, loot their remains and salvage a Spotter Relay.
- You need to deliver the Spotter Relay to Shani, so hide it in your safe pocket in case another pesky raider puts you down.
- Once you’ve extracted with the Spotter Relay, hand it in to Shani to complete the Quest.
All Rewards For ‘Combat Recon’ Quest In ARC Raiders
When you complete ‘Combat Recon,’ head back to Speranza, where Shani will reward you with a new outfit colour, as well as some explosives.
A new outfit colour is always welcome, and for how simple the Quest was, it’s tough to complain. All of the rewards are listed below:
- Red (Radio Renegade Color)
- 5 Firecrackers
- 1 Fireworks Box
This is just the first Quest in the series, as up next, Shani wants you to destroy the Bombardier. There’s an exclusive emote up for grabs there, so it might be best to jump straight back into Buried City to put that mortar-flinging ARC down.
