The long-awaited release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong has finally been announced as part of Gamescom 2025.
First announced in February 2019, our Andy Highton had a hands-on preview at Gamescom and was left very impressed by the results, while fans online are desperate to play the same demo as they eagerly await the end of the long, hard wait for a release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong.
The end date for that wait has finally been revealed, however, with a short special announcement trailer from Team Cherry.
Hollow Knight: Silksong Releases September 4
In a special announcement video that premiered on YouTube, developer Team Cherry showed off new gameplay from the anticipated sequel along with the release date.
It was an agonisingly long wait for such a short video, with a three-minute countdown followed by some gameplay. The big reveal came right at the end, with Hollow Knight: Silksong confirmed for a September 4 launch.

Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch 1 & 2. It will also be available via Xbox Game Pass.
