After months, and years, of delays, Hogwarts Legacy is finally here, and that means reviews are popping up from around the internet.
The game was originally revealed in 2020 with a planned release date of 2021. However, various issues caused delays to 2022 and then later to February 10, 2023. But now that it’s finally here, people are able to see what Avalanche Software has been working on all along.
Now, if you went online at any time during the game’s development, you know there is heavy controversy surrounding it. Not because of the studio developing it or the game itself, but rather who the game supports.
Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has been under fire for her public views on gender identity and transgender individuals. Knowing that even though she wasn’t directly involved in the game but would still be making profits off of her IP (Intellectual Property), it lead many online to call for a boycott of the game as well as criticize those who publicly mentioned their plans to still purchase the game.
Even with the issues surrounding Rawling, the game still sold well before release. The question is, did all of the delays lead to a great game? Check out what various critics have to say about Hogwarts Legacy.
Remember, these are just for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. The last-gen version launches on April 4 while the Nintendo Switch version doesn’t come out until July 25.
