Ubisoft and developer Unfrozen have announced that Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era has seen its early access launch delayed to later this year.
The announcement came via a lengthy statement on social media.
Originally planned for a second quarter 2025 release, Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era will now launch into early access “later in 2025.”
“We’ve been looking forward to revealing more about the road ahead for Olden Era and providing an update that many of you have been eagerly awaiting,” the statement begins. “First, thank you for the incredible support and feedback you’ve shared with us since Olden Era was first revealed. You are the heart that keeps this series blooming in a myriad of ways, and we are truly grateful to bring joy to all of you through this project!”
The statement then transitioned into an update on the game’s release. According to the studio, while the hope was to bring the game to players sooner, they made the “made the tough but necessary decision to postpone its release.”
“This wasn’t a decision we made lightly, but one made to ensure we give Olden Era the care it deserves,” Unfrozen said. “From the beginning, our goal has been to create something truly special, and that takes time, care, and iteration. However, as an indie studio, we need a bit more time to get everything ready for the big Early Access release.”
While Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era will now launch in early access later this year, an exact release date wasn’t given for the first Heroes of Might & Magic game in 10 years.
“Thank you to everyone who’s been sharing their thoughts and ideas,” the studio said. “It truly means a lot to us. Now we need a bit of time to carefully go through everything, organize it, and, most importantly, turn your suggestions into actual gameplay improvements. Without your watchful eyes and constructive insight, we wouldn’t have gone as far as we currently have.”
