THE INSIDER SAYS: “You and up to five minions (friends) are summoned by a wizard to invade a rival’s tower and wreck havoc. Vandalize the place and cast spells while avoiding the traps and monsters inside. Where the “YAPYAP” part comes in: You’ve got to use your voice to cast the spells. So, you can see where this is going. Mayhem and goofy friendslop clips, ready for TikTok.”
If 2025 was the year of PEAK- and RV There Yet?- type multiplayer games, 2026 is starting strong with YAPYAP, another goofy contender in that “friendslop” space. YAPYAP has you raid towers and utterly WRECK the joint.
As the dev team puts it: “Break their piano, clog their toilets, pee on their rug – do anything in your power to ruin the rival archmage’s day. Every inconvenience you create gives you more points towards your vandalism target for the night.”
Another pro-tip: Keep a calm voice while spellcasting. Laugh too much or get jump-scared by whatever’s lurking around the corner and you’ve botched the spell.
So, that’s the game. Stay quiet when you can, cause mayhem, avoid whatever’s lurking, and get out. Oh, yeah, and running is an option as well.
INSIDE LOOKS:
- There’s lots of spells to cast (if you can keep yourself from laughing): Push, pull, smash, launch, float, teleport, clone, confuse, disguise, fishify – FISHIFY? – and more.
- In case you thought we’re joking about using your voice, we’re not. According to the devs: “Use your voice to cast wizardly incantations – enunciation matters so you better keep your voice steady no matter how dire the circumstances.”
YAPYAP will be available with a demo on Steam for PC.
